Living in Squamish provides a very unique experience as we can gaze upon surrounding mountains and waterways and observe a magnificent and colourful world. As Christians, we believe that there is a Creator who personally crafted the grandeur and intricacies of this spectacular planet. And to us, our surroundings provide evidence that this God exists. In fact, the Bible speaks of how God has shown himself through his creation (Romans 1.19-20). Though this alone is not enough to develop a relationship with this God, it points us to him. And yet God also provided divine revelation where he communicates with his creation. This is to be found in the Bible. And yet, many people don’t view the Bible in this way. Many believe it to be a book of rules. And others as an ancient book that has no relevance to anyone today. Perhaps you fall into one of these categories. However, this book is unlike any other. If you were to ask Christians who value God’s Word and try to live by it, they would tell you that this is a book that reads you. The Bible opens us up. Because of its divine nature, this book pierces our souls and points us to God. At Squamish Baptist Church, we are committed to the study of this ancient book, the Bible. It is our goal to know the Almighty God and to live our lives based on his expectations of us. His expectations are not burdensome, but they are life to us and a “light to our path.” - Psalm 119:105 Love, Pastor Jonathan Squamish Baptist Church |
